Control Unit For C Band Upconvertor

Concept to Fabrication

  • The system was a microcontroller-based unit used to control and monitor switching of Up-Converter from its front panel in Local/Remote modes.
  • The system also controls and monitors the switching path of two up converters in the up link transmit chain.
  • After being housed in a rack mountable 2U chassis the fabricated system was successfully subjected to a 168 hour Burn-in Test inside the laboratory.

Spacecraft Interface Simulator

Fabrication

  • This system interfaces to a computer and generates necessary clocks and command signals for Payload Operation during Ground testing and evaluation in absence of Spacecraft mainframe.
  • The SIS is a subsystem of the Electro Optical Payload Ground check out and Evaluation Instrumentation.
  • The system was realized with motherboard + daughter board concept to provide flexibility for future expansion.
  • After being housed in a rack mountable 4U chassis the fabricated system was successfully subjected to a 168 hour Burn-in Test inside the laboratory.

Automated Weather Station Monitoring System

Concept to Fabrication

On Line Monitor

Concept to Fabrication

  • The online monitor is a one to one cable extender with signal monitoring via banana socket pin provided for each connection for different types of D Type Connectors.
  • Ambimat also provided the facility for active monitoring of digital signals on the system.

Pay Load Controller Subsystem

Fabrication

  • This system generates all timing and control signals required for payload operation and acquires telemetry data of health monitoring parameters of Payload.
  • It is connected to the spacecraft computer serially. The mechanical structure, housing the electronics was realized by a stack of firmly held trays, each of which was fabricated by milling a single piece of solid aluminum alloy 6061TS.
  • The PLC too, like others, was successfully subjected to Flight Model Environmental 168 hour burn-in testing.

QPSK Modulator

PCB Layout design From Schematic & Fabrication

  • Ambimat’s layout design was a mix of digital and RF components on single six layers PCB. The digital section comprised of an FPGA along with associated buffers, drivers etc. The RF section consisted of two-way 90-degree power combiner/splitter, SPDT Switch and Power Amplifier for RF signal for transmission.
  • The modulator was successfully subjected to 168 hour burn-in environmental testing.

Cable Tester-04 Cable Harness Tester

Concept to fabrication

  • Cable Harness Continuity Tester was designed with jigs (connection) for different types and polarity of connectors like D Type, SCSI, RJ-45 etc.
  • The cable tester can further be customized for other jigs for any type/polarity of connectors.
  • Ambimat ensured a reliable operation by implementing sequential scanning of one to many pins, multiple times before generating the report.
  • The product was accompanied by a software for automated cable continuity testing, harness reports generation as well as other relevant data aggregation.

Payload Status Indicator

Fabrication

  • The PSI interfaces with a computer and acquires Payload health monitoring data in analog and digital formats by telemetry channels received from the payload.
  • This unit is a part of the electro-optical ground checkout and evaluation instrumentation.

Data Handling Unit

Fabrication

  • The Data Handling Unit facilitates ground testing and evaluation of electro-optical sensors for remote sensing applications.
  • The DHU is a part of the electro-optical ground checkout and evaluation instrumentation that receives payload data to suit the computer based data acquisition system.
  • It also has the facility to provide selectable analog channel for quick look display and verification.
  • The system was realized with motherboard + daughter board concept to provide flexibility for future expansion.
  • After being housed in a rack mountable 4U chassis the fabricated system was successfully subjected to a 168 hour Burn-in Test inside the laboratory.
