Ambimat Electronics was founded in Ahmedabad in 1982. What follows is the year-by-year record of how the company moved from microprocessor trainer kits and ISRO subsystem work into smart cards, payment terminals, industrial automation and connected products. Ambimat History

Ambimat Electronics, since it’s inception in the year 1982, has been at the forefront of offering engineering services to the leading PSUs as well as private sector companies and start-ups in India. Ambimat can boast about clients such as ISRO, PRL, IPR etc. in the PSU sector to companies like Elecon Engineer company and Vadilal in the private sector.

    • Durgesh Shah, Founder/CEO, Ambimat Electronics, resigns from Space Application Center, ISRO

  • 1982

    Timeline 1982
    • April, 1982
      Ambimat Electronics is a registered partnership firm
    • Ambimat Electronics starts building microprocessor trainer kits and accessories along with  UV erasers and launches them under brand AMBITRONIX (Logo will be provided in a few hours)
    • Ambimat makes it's first sale to Systronics, Ahmedabad

  • 1983

    Timeline 1983
    • Ambimat adds single board computer and pico forth compiler for use with micro processor trainer kits and single board computers.
    • Ambimat scales up production and provides provides the trainer kits and other signle board computers to several educational as well as research institutes in India

  • 1984

    • Ambimat develops PLC Prototype and  Digital Recording System with reader Interface as Custom designed products for Space Application Center, ISRO

  • 1986

    • Ambimat starts offering PCB design services to the Aerospace industry.

  • 1987

    • Ambimat enters development for the commercial aviation space: Indian Airlines
    • Ambimat offers PCB design services to Industries. Bags first customer: SBM computers (a group company of a leading Gujarati daily - Gujarat Samachar daily

    • Ambimat adds PC interface cards like OPTO IO card and Reed relay card for Educational/Industrial applications

  • 1989

    • Ambimat Electronics add Ambimat Associates to support the growing assembled desktop computers market

  • 1990

    • Ambimat enters the customs design and development space.
    • Ambimat designs and develops products for EarthStation applications.

  • 1992

    • Ambimat Associates becomes authorized distributors FOR IBM LEXMARK PRINTERS  and IBM ThinkPad notebooks

    • Ambimat fabricates and supplies Antenna control units to Bharat Electronics Ltd. Gaziabad

  • 1994

    • Ambimat adds Ambimat Infotech Pvt. Ltd. as a group company to support Ambimat Associates with distribution of IT products

    • Ambimat bags work Contract for Wiring and Harness of DC and RF cables for Satellite Panels for Various Satellites at SAC / ISRO.
    • Ambimat diversifies into Smart homes with their own offering of Smart home solutions based on Zigbee, Wifi, Ethernet and Wireless Technology

  • 2014

    • Ambimat expands globally into providing product development services to companies in the US
    • Ambimat successfully designs and fabricates first Wireless Technology device and gets FCC certification for the same

    • Ambimat offers design, development, prototyping, testing, supply chain and packaging services to private companies as a part of the turn key solution
    • Ambimat designs ground checkout and evaluation of various electro optical payloads for remote sensing programs for the RESOURCESAT, CARTOSAT etc.
    • Ambimat build’s two wearable designs: A fitness tracker and a women’s safety wearable.

    • Ambimat build first Finch product. Builds development kit for NXP’s secure element
    • Ambimat builds first mesh networked sensor product for the HVAC space for it’s US based client
    • Ambimat builds PLC based energy optimization system for the Heating Ventilation and Air conditioning Industry for it’s US based client
    • Ambimat builds Wireless Technology Low Energy based smart card design for the medical industry
    • Ambimat builds a Wireless Technology based impact sensor design for measuring vibrations and impact on surfaces

  • 2017

    • Ambimat fabricates and tests a shortwave infrared focal plane array drive hardware
    • Ambimat builds first Home automation product for the India market for it’s customer
    • Ambimat builds first security product line CEEL
    • Ambimat does PCB design for a US based electric meter company
    • Ambimat builds Wireless Technology modules based on the QN9020 and the QN9080 from NXP Semiconductor.
    • Ambimat builds Smart Labels for the cold chain monitoring industry that can communicate over NFC to an Android device.

    • Ambimat designs and fabricates an ISO 7810-ID1 form factor product for processing Sound Payments on card
    • Ambimat becomes the first Indian company to design and develop an Automatic Fare collection Module for the transit industry in India
    • Ambimat builds UHF security Tags for Anti Theft applications for International Shipments
    • Ambimat builds Hybrid tags for payment as well as location tracking of assets in a closed space
    • Ambimat designs and builds a USB token for Digital Signature applications
    • Ambimat builds Vehicle Tracking units using the NAVic receiver for the Indian Space Research Organisation

  • 2019

    Timeline 2019
    • Ambimat steps into the Prosthesis Industry by designing and developing the hardware of the control system of a Prosthetic Upper Limb. Device passes IEC60601 in first attempt at pre-compliance testing
    • Ambimat installs first Smart building solution in Building Automation Space in India and in the United States
    • Ambimat builds a product that communicates to a Point of Sale Terminal and can communicate to the outside world over Wireless Technology
    • Ambimat designs a multi therapeutic healing device with IEC60601 compliance
    • Ambimat designs a Smart Building Solution for communicating with the building automation network over BACnet, MODBUS etc.

  • 2020

    Timeline 2020
    • Ambimat enhanced its offering, AmbiSense, to monitor the temperature by contactless temperature sensing, data logging, and remote monitoring.
    • Ambimat builds Vehicle Tracking units using the NAVic receiver for the Indian Space Research Organisation.
    • Ambimat also designed an Antenna Control Unit for the Indian Space Research Organisation.
    • Ambimat, with its offering AmbiSecure, has designed a hardware-based security solution that provides secure end-to-end communication while maintaining robust network performance in a city-wide infrastructure.
    • Ambimat, with its offering AmbiSecure, also developed a hardware-based authentication and public key cryptography to defend against phishing attacks effectively and eliminate account takeovers. It is a FIDO-certified Security solution.
    • Ambimat, under AmbiPower, developed a retrofit communication module capable of communicating with a Utility meter and a Head End System over a cellular network.
    • Ambimat designed a Smart home product for automating the lights and fans of a home using Wireless Technology, Ethernet, and Wi-Fi.
