AmbiIoT is Ambimat Electronics’ design and development service for IoT and embedded products, and the customer owns the IP. We take on product design, product development, or a specific stage of an engineering programme that is already under way. With design experience of close to 4 decades, AmbiIoT has designed products in over 20 different industry verticals including but not limited to Robotics, Smart Watches, Pubs and Breweries, Music, Medical electronics and retail environments.
We work from system architecture through schematic and PCB layout to Gerber release and board bring-up. Ambimat has realised PCB designs from two to twelve layers, as Rigid, Flexible and Flexi Rigid boards, using Cadence, OrCAD, Altium, PADS, CADSTAR and EAGLE. Our RF and power supply designs have passed international certifications including FCC Part 15 Subpart B and C, CE and PTCRB at the first attempt, and our test facility supports functional and environmental testing with 168-hour burn-in analysis. More on hardware design, manufacturing, assembly and testing.
On the software side we write firmware and embedded software in C, C++ and assembly for MCUs ranging from legacy processors such as the 8085 to the ARM Cortex M series, on silicon from Texas Instruments, Atmel/Microchip, NXP Semiconductors, Renesas and Nordic Semiconductors. We work with Embedded Linux and RTOS at the Hardware Abstraction Layer and the Application Layer, and we interface sensors and actuators — from temperature sensors to fingerprint biometric sensors — over MQTT or RESTful APIs to backend servers. More on embedded software services.
Ambimat supports customers who already have a design team and want an extra helping hand on specific parts of the design, such as taking a schematic design to a Gerber release, or converting a proof of concept into a full-fledged product that can pass regulatory compliance on the RF and power supply front. Your IP is protected as our own and is handed back to you without any breach. More on R&D and design partnerships.
In 2019 AmbiIoT designed the hardware for a Multi-therapeutic Wound Healing Device for an Indian Start-up. The device passed through ISO 13485 pre-certification testing in the first attempt.
In 2017, AmbiIoT designed a Wireless Technology mesh network of devices that could sense the thumbing of people on a dance floor and provide feedback to the DJ on the music that was being played.
In 2016 AmbiIoT designed the hardware for a product that could sense the movement of a beer tap and could recognize if the beer was being poured in a mug or a pitcher and provide real-time updates to a remote server over Wireless Technology
In 2019 AmbiIoT designed a device to help remove the need to print paper receipts for users. In 2020 AmbiIoT has also designed a sanitizing device that can check temperature and run facial recognition technology as well on the users
We recently worked on this project in 2019 for an Indian start-up. One of our first projects in Robotics where Ambimat developed the control system for the robotic arm to be used by an upper limb amputee. The device passed through ISO 13485 pre-certification testing in the first attempt
In 2018 AmbiIoT designed a device Tag Tamper or UHF tags deliver a comprehensive set of high-performance designs for demanding applications that require long-distance radio frequency identification (RFID).
Regulatory failure late in a programme is expensive, so RF and power supply designs are taken through certification as part of the engineering work rather than after it. AmbiIoT designs have passed FCC Part 15 Subpart B and Subpart C, CE and PTCRB at the first attempt, and medical device programmes have passed ISO 13485 pre-certification testing at the first attempt — the wound healing device in 2019 and the robotic arm control system in the same year. If your product already exists and only needs to clear RF and power supply compliance, that can be taken on as a stage on its own.
At AmbiIoT we understand that even if there are two products that are to be designed for the same industry, they can be extremely different based on what the client was to offer to the end customer. We spend the time to completely understand all client needs upfront and work all the way from architecting the system to releasing gerber files for PCBs and subsequently board bring ups to make sure the design satisfies all agreed-upon specifications for the customer. With this unique methodology, we assure the best of service to our customers and assure them of complete transparency in our working as well as making sure their IP is protected with us.
We have a 7 step process that we offer to all our customers and the process can be accessed on:-
